P2P in one sentence

P2P (peer-to-peer) trading is buying and selling crypto directly with other people through an exchange that holds the crypto safely in escrow while the money moves by bank transfer. No brokers, no middlemen taking a cut of the price, just you, another person, and the exchange guaranteeing neither side can cheat.

The crypto almost everyone trades is USDT, a stablecoin worth about one US dollar. Think of it as digital dollars. People want dollars, and the price of dollars in your local currency moves every day, which is where the opportunity comes from.

How merchants actually make money

A merchant buys USDT at one price and sells it at a slightly higher price. That gap is called the spread, and it is the entire business. If you buy USDT at 1,480 naira each and sell at 1,505, you make 25 naira on every single USDT. Move 10,000 USDT in a month at that margin and that is 250,000 naira, before costs.
