How to improve your P2P completion rate
Completion rate decides whether your ads get seen. What damages it, how to recover, and why volume will not save a bad one.
It decides who sees you
Platforms rank ads partly on merchant reliability. A poor completion rate means your ads sit lower, get fewer views, and take longer to fill, which is a slow squeeze rather than an obvious penalty.
Most merchants notice the symptom, ads filling slowly, long before they connect it to the cause.
What damages it
- Cancelling trades you accepted, which is the biggest single factor.
- Slow responses, since a counterparty who waits often cancels.
- Posting ads when you are not available to settle them.
- Disputes, even ones you win, because frequency is noticed.
How to recover
There is no shortcut. Rate improves by completing trades cleanly over time, so the fastest recovery is to reduce your exposure rather than trade more: fewer ads, smaller amounts, only during hours you can actually respond.
Trading harder with a damaged rate mostly produces more incomplete trades.
Prevention is cheaper
Only post ads you can settle right now. An ad sitting live while you are asleep or driving is a cancellation waiting to happen, and it costs more than the trade was worth.
